  • directive of the Council of the European Communities of 3 October 1989 on television without borders which aims to co-ordinate certain legal, regulatory and administrative aspects of Member-States on television broadcasting activities ;
  • European directive adopted 24 July 1995 on the use of norms for the transmission of television signals ;
  • European convention on cross-border television adopted by the committee of ministers of the Council of Europe 15 March 1989 ;
  • amended law of 30 September 1986 on liberty of communication ;
  • law of 29 July 1982 on audiovisual communication (11 articles still apply) ;
  • amended law of 10 July 1965 setting the status of co-ownership of buildings, on cable distribution networks.
  • amended law of 2 July 1966 on the installation of aerials for the reception of radio transmission ;
  • urban law : articles R 421-1 and R 422-2 setting conditions to subject to a building permit notably for aerials for the reception of television signals ;
  • decree of 17 January 1990 setting general principles for the distribution of film and audiovisual productions ;
  • decree of 1 September 1992 setting the regime to apply to the different categories of services of sound and television broadcasting distributed by cable (amended by the order of 24 January 1995) ;
  • decree of 9 May 1995 on encrypted television services broadcast by microwave or via satellite.
