From Roger.Amgot@wanadoo.fr Sat Oct 7 21:33:24 2000 To: Law France Subject: Jospin denies 'recours gracieux' The French PM Jospin has denied the request of Ira Einhorn and his partisans for a reconsideration of his decision on July 21, 2000 to sign the extradition decree. The next and last French procedure is the Conseil d'Etat, for which Einhorn has another 60 days to register an appeal, which can take months or years before a decision. Einhorn's lawyers say they will take this before the European Court of Human Rights if necessary, an act which is not suspensive of execution, but it can be expected that the French government will let him stay during this possibly very long wait.
