We have a 1983 Renault Alliance with 1.4L engine, automatic transmission. We were surfing the web for some insight into our problem and came across your e-mail address and invitation to help people with problems. Our problem is that the engine will start, run for not even four seconds, and stall. Our mechanic has replaced the fuel pump and fuel injector. He can get the engine to run if he manually bypasses the injector module (?). Also he replaced the module with a used one, but to no avail. When that didn't work, he got the rest of the related fuel system electronics from the same junkyard, and has been trying them to no avail. We can only assume that these replacement parts are good. Our car is still not fixed, and he seems stumped at this point. He said there is someone he can consult with on this, but I tired of being without a car. We were hoping that maybe there is a fuel problem endemic to this particular Renault model that you can tell us about. Thank you for your time.
