In 1997, USEPA added two new PM2.5 standards, set at 15 micrograms per cubic meter (£gg/m3) and 65 £gg/m3, respectively, for the annual and 24-hour standards. In addition, the form of the 24-hour standard for PM10 was changed. USEPA is beginning to collect data on PM2.5 concentrations. Beginning in 2002, based on 3 years of monitor data, EPA will designate areas as nonattainment that do not meet the new PM2.5 standards. O3 issue is pending on the issues of 1-hour or 8-hour ozone standard recently. Since I strongly concern the international development of NAAQS, would you please supply some information about your national air quality standard whether regulates the two distinguished issues. 1. Does your country use 8-hour or other ozone standard? 2. Does your country set PM2.5 standards? If notĦAwill your country consider to set above standards in the near future ĦH Looking forward to hearing from with the assurances of my deepest respect.
